They have the gentlest and most kind themes, while also causing more anger and salt than a snowy road. And no one describes that mentality better than the banana ambulance, Soraka. For this ranking we’re going to have a look at all of her cosmetics to see just how good we can look while making sure the enemy team dies of starvation.
11. Divine Soraka
Released: November 2nd, 2010 Price: 975 RP I am just not a huge fan of this skin, and I’ll share why. Firstly, I don’t really like skins that just take monster characters and turn them human – because that’s basic as all hell. Secondly, charging 975 RP for a simple character model redesign should be illegal. Thirdly, please Riot, at least update her splash art a bit. I’m sure that some players will dig the simplistic human look on Soraka. But I just feel like this is a downgrade from the base model, and therefore I do not recommend it unless you have a lot of extra RP.
10. Dryad Soraka
Released: June 3rd, 2010 Price: 520 RP Dryad Soraka was basically just a chroma before chromas existed. I literally had to put this character model beside the base model to see any differences, other than just everything being green. And my only breakthrough so far is that Dryad Soraka has a slightly more dangerous staff. The splash art is also a lot cuter. But honestly, even a low price like 520 RP should deliver more than just a recolor, a few new edges & a new splash art.
9. Program Soraka
Released: April 6th, 2016 Price: 1350 RP OK, the previous two skins are the only ones I actively disliked. So now it’s just nitpicks of pretty good skins here on out. Program Soraka honestly brings a lot to the table. The new animations and particles are all rather well done, with distinct sound effects and a very cool looking E. Plus the splash art is pretty good and the character model fits the theme perfectly. It also features the widest hip game the Soraka community has ever seen. All of that being said, this skin just feels slightly off. Maybe it’s because the theme seems a bit random for Soraka, or because robotic skins are generally a bit underwhelming. But it kinda gets boring after a while.
8. Celestine Soraka
Released: March 5th, 2013 Price: 975 RP Celestine Soraka honestly should have been Soraka’s base skin. It takes everything the original tried to do, and then does it better. Take one look at that character model and you already know that she’s a healer. And then you see all those yellow particles and you can deduce her love for bananas. Everything adds up! But for real, this character model hits all of the notes it needs to. Both the E and the backing animation are just better versions of the original, and the splash art is a bit more detailed and dynamic than in the base skin. This design doesn’t feel all that outside of the box as far as skins go, which is why I’m not ranking it that high. But if you just want a better version of base Soraka, this is the skin for you.
7. Winter Wonder Soraka
Released: December 6th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP Winter Wonder Soraka is just good all-around. The splash art legitimately looks like a Disney movie poster, which is high praise. And the in-game model lives up to the hype rather well. I especially like the design for her new wand. The animations vary from extremely obvious and unoriginal, like just putting a snowflake on her passive and Q, to really detailed and cool, like the ice cracking on her E. However, it’s also worth noting that there are no bananas to be seen within this skin. Even your auto-attacks look more like discs than your iconic boomerang fruit. In the pursuit of greatness, we failed to do good.
6. Pajama Guardian Soraka
Released: November 21st, 2018 Price: 1350 RP There are three main themes when it comes to Soraka: being a healer, being a mage, and being adorable. This skin really puts the emphasis on that last one by giving her some comfortable pajamas, an adorable splash art, and some really colorful new particles and animations. It’s just a cuter version of the Star Guardian skin – and I have to say that I like Pajama Guardian Soraka slightly less, only because I find the first two themes (healer & mage) a bit more interesting. The animations here are really well-made though. And the skin does offer some cool features, like a really cool backing and homeguard animation. But there is a different pick for me for when I want to look at an adorable Soraka skin and heal my edgelord heart.
5. Star Guardian Soraka
Released: September 6th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP As previously stated, this skin has the exact same animations and features as Pajama Guardian. But it has a different character model, and I think it’s a better fit. The superhero theme goes well with Soraka. Plus I think this skin lets her new animations shine brighter as well. The E is just incredibly distinct and fun, the wings that pop out during your ult make you feel like a true angel, the backing animation doubles down on that angelic feeling, and your homeguard animation is some pure fun. The skin is extremely colorful though – which might be a slight turn off for some people. But I would say that it’s still pretty amazing overall.
4. Reaper Soraka
Released: November 5th, 2014 Price: 1350 RP Does this skin get special treatment because I’m an edgelord? Absolutely. I just find it so interesting to walk around looking like the Grim Reaper, and I like to imagine that I’m very lazy and constantly heal people so I don’t have to show them the way to the underworld. Reaper Soraka’s abilities also feel a lot more impactful and dangerous here. So this is one of my go-to skins if I plan to go full AP and wreck some plebs. Very few other skins have a Q animation this intimidating. And that’s a big value add! The voice filter is also really nice, and the splash art has all the darkness that I could ever want. It might not be for everyone, but I think Reaper Soraka is really good.
3. Café Cuties Soraka
Released: December 2nd, 2021 Price: 1350 RP If you basically disagreed with everything I said in the previous writeup, this skin should be your preferred pick. Even I have to admit that this is the cutest thing to have ever walked the Rift! Being a café maid was already cute. But the fact that your passive sign is a cake, your passive indicator is a spoon, your E is a croissant… it’s all just overwhelmingly adorable. And that character model is just ridiculous, especially if you opt for the obsidian chroma. It’ll melt your heart halfway through the game. I will say that it’s a shame that your auto-attacks aren’t also croissants. It feels like a missed opportunity. But this skin has enough positives as it is, so I won’t hark on that for any longer.
2. Order of the Banana Soraka
Released: March 31st, 2015 Price: 750 RP Maybe I’m just weird, but this skin makes me unreasonably happy. Even though it doesn’t give you any new particles or animations, but rather just settles on a new character model and a new auto-attack. Still, I truly believe it to be one of Soraka’s best. The banana meme has been going on forever. And the fact that you can finally throw actual bananas at people just feels like a victory after a long, hard-fought war. In fact, I think this skin is a must if you’re planning on whipping out the old AD Soraka build. The character model is also quite nice, with a banana staff and an outfit that screams “a fruity summer bananza”. Dad joke very much intended.
1. Nightbringer/Dawnbringer Soraka
Released: December 12th, 2019 Price: 1820 RP Legendary skins almost always win. And we have to stop acting surprised. As you might have guessed if you read this entire article, I prefer the Nightbringer version here – but both are extremely well-made and deserving of the number one spot. Nightbringer finishes the job that Reaper started, and makes you feel like a true threat on the battlefield. While Dawnbringer gives you that “mystical healer vibe” that Soraka was initially created for. It goes without saying that both of these skins offer the most up-to-date animations and particles, with both respective Qs and Es giving Soraka that little extra visual flare she has always lacked. These skins also feature brand new emotes. And to say that they’re an improvement to the base skin would be the biggest understatement of the century. I can’t even name all of the positive sides to these two skins. So just do yourself a favor and look them up, as they are without a doubt the best options for Soraka.
