This way you can enjoy all the epiceness of the whole Naruto Saga up until the point of Boruto (or even beyond if you happened to have the DLC). Regardless, the game did come out a few years ago. And with games like this, there’s always something new to be added. Mods to the rescue! This list has plenty to improve your game and help you get back into your ultimate ninja groove.
20. Complete Save Game
Check Out This Mod My mod list wouldn’t be complete without a full save game of NSUNS4. As we all know, unlocking everything can be extremely annoying if all you want is to play with your friends. I mean, NSUNS4 does come with plenty of locked characters and stuff that you can’t use when you first get the game. So why wait? A mod like this is an absolute savior. And it’ll do wonders for those meetups with your friends where you want to play some Naruto, but you don’t feel like completing the damn story just to unlock the characters. I get it: you have to work to get them, but sometimes you just want to take the game to a friend’s place and chill!
19. Modpacks 1 LaMinuteGameplay
Check Out This Mod I know that downloading these mods individually can truly be a pain in the arse (trust me, I’ve been doing this for years). So there’s really not much I can complain about whenever I see one of these mod packs. Even though there are some mods here that I wouldn’t use individually, it does add some variety to the game by introducing new character skins. Plus some slightly NSWF content, which is always nice.
18. Adult Sasuke Moveset Mod
Check Out This Mod Arguably one of the best moves mods out there, this one truly changes the way you’ll feel about playing with adult Sasuke in Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. It gives the character a completely different and unique feel that adds to the overall “edginess” that we’ve all grown to love about Sasuke, without jeopardizing this combos’ stylishness. In fact, I’d even say that the combos that you can use with this version of Sasuke are even better than the ones that come with the base game. Bold statement, I know.
17. Ultimate Story Difficulty
Check Out This Mod I have been playing games from the Naruto franchise ever since the first one came out during the PS3 days. And I honestly feel that I’ve mastered most of the aspects of the game, and even the most difficult enemies are starting to feel easy. If you’re like me and you’ve cleared this game’s story mode too many times, you might want to give this mod a shot. The updated story will truly feel like an actual challenge. Characters will take longer to bring down, and they will hit you much harder as well. If you struggled with the original story, you won’t be able to get past this one. I highly recommend this mod if you’re looking for a challenge!
16. NSUNS 4 Obito Rampaging Moveset Mod
Check Out This Mod Remember that time when Obito went on a rampage and killed everything in sight? Well if you do, you’ll love this mod. It gives you the ability to put Obito’s Rampage moves into the game so you can experience the true might of one of the strongest Uchiha clan members. Bear in mind that this thing feels a bit too overpowered for my liking, and might be for your liking too. But hey: it’s clear that no one really cares about the competitive aspect of the game. If you want a fair fight against your friends, I would not recommend getting this mod. However, if you just want your game to provide you with a fully anime-like experience, absolutely check this out.
15. NSUNS4 Madara Gunbai Moveset Mod
Check Out This Mod Now if Obito isn’t your thing and you want to get the full Madara Gunbai experience, this is another “new moves” mod that might be of interest. It’s another one that feels overpowered. But I can’t deny that it makes the character much more enjoyable – and this is coming from someone that has never really liked to play with Madara in any Naruto game (I don’t care how OP he has been in the past). In any case, give this one a go if you’re a fan.
14. Mod Pack 2
Check Out This Mod Quite a name on this one, huh? Although the creator of this mod got this thing in French, it should work well as long as you have the latest version of the game installed. It adds a bunch of new Kakashi skins and “Legacy” characters to the game (including Sage Minato!). You’ll love it if you want to see new characters in an otherwise older game.
13. Wandering Shinobi Sasuke
Check Out This Mod Replacing Sasuke The Last for this version of Sasuke is probably one of the best things that I’ve ever done. But I do have to tell you that I’ve always been a huge Sasuke fan. In this case the skills, moves, and the skin itself more than justify the work that you’ll have to go through in order to make this one work. Besides, this is arguably the coolest name out of any Sasuke out there. Don’t you agree?
12. Sasuke Rinnegan Moveset Mod
Check Out This Mod I think it’s absurd that we don’t get to play with Rinnegan Sasuke in NSUNS4! It’s by far one of the best variations of the character. I mean, a dude running both the Rinnegan and the Sharingan at the same time, and the creators of the game missed out on giving us the chance to play him? How did they let it happen? Well there’s actually a pretty good reason for it: this version of Sasuke is probably one of the most overpowered. Still, this is a very fun mod. And one that you’ll love if you enjoy playing with all 50 Sasuke variations out there.
11. Boruto Awakens Sage Mode and Sage of the Six Paths Mode
Check Out This Mod Of course I wasn’t going to miss adding a couple of Boruto mods to my list. Especially since they enable you to play with the awakened sage and six paths modes. I think it’s pretty obvious, but I’ll still say it: you need the Road to Boruto DLC if you want this mod to work.
10. Naruto The Last Normal and Awakening
Check Out This Mod If you weren’t at all satisfied with the last Naruto character, this mod will get you out of that disappointment. Specifically by introducing you to a completely revamped version of both Naruto’s normal version and his Awakening version. Give it a try and see what you think.
9. Ultimate Rasengan Pack
Check Out This Mod Yes, this mod is as cool as its name suggests. Basically, it allows you to use a bunch of different types of Rasengans (they all come in pretty different colors). The best thing about this mod is that it works with every type of character that uses a Rasengan, which means variety is guaranteed regardless of who you’re planning to use it with! Don’t worry, though: this mod doesn’t break the balance of the game. It doesn’t change the power of each attack or anything like that. The only thing it does is give your Rasengans different colors – and you get to see more variety all around!
8. Adult Sasuke – Mangekyou Rinnegan & Custom Rinnegan
Check Out This Mod New skills, new costume, and a new Rinnegan – things don’t really get much better than this for Adult Sasuke when you’re playing NSUNS4. The mod massively revamps the character and throws us a new breath of fresh air that you’ll be inhaling for the entire game. As you can imagine, you’ll love this mod even more if you’re a Sasuke fan. If you can’t already tell, I’m a huge one myself.
7. Naruto Sage of the Six Paths Moveset
Check Out This Mod That’s right, this mod adds the Sage of the Six Paths skillset to the game! Get this installed and fight with Sage of the Six Paths: Naruto against Boruto, especially thanks to the last mod I mentioned on my list. Five minutes and you’ll be good to go.
6. Naruto (7th Hokage)
Check Out This Mod Is there really anything better than getting to play with Naruto when he has the 7th Hokage Outfit on? I’m guessing yes, but still this mod is great. We always rooted for him to become the next Hokage. So it’s only natural that we all want to play with him using those clothes in NSUNS4, I believe. In any case, this mod also adds an updated move set to Naruto, making him more suited to the way he looks as a Hokage. It’s a very well-made mod, as are the rest of the special move set mods that I’ve included in this list. I say check them all out and see which ones you like best.
5. Enhanced NSUNS Preset
Check Out This Mod Now this is the only graphics mod on my list, but there’s a good reason for it: it’s an absolute must-have. It improves (or should I say tweaks) some of the graphical aspects of the game. This includes lighting and color changes, which makes the game look more vivid. It’s pretty noticeable. If you’ve played Skyrim before then you’ve probably heard of these types of mods in the past. It’s a shader preset that dramatically improves the way the game looks by changing light interactions with the environment. As you can imagine, though, it requires you to have quite a powerful computer to make it run smoothly.
4. NSUNSR Health Regen Mod
Check Out This Mod This mod only makes the game more “canon” when it comes to the manga. But bear in mind that it also makes the game broken if you’re trying to play competitively with your friends. In short, it adds health regen to characters that have it in the manga. Which means that you’ll be able to say your health bar goes up after taking damage in a fight. If you’re playing against the CPU, then cool. However if you’re playing with friends, you’re going to piss them off pretty fast. Which is sure to be a blast.
3. Road to Ninja Pack
Check Out This Mod The Road to Ninja Pack is the best costume pack that I managed to come across. It adds a bunch of new skins to the game, including a Naruto-Sasuke hybrid that I’ve very much grown to love. Check it out if you’re looking for the best aesthetic-focused add-on for this game.
2. Perfect Storm
Check Out This Mod Perfect Storm aims to take NSUNS4 down a different route. Since it’s pretty clear that the game was not made to play competitively, this mod changes that. It tweaks the stats of all characters to make them all fair in a competitive environment. This mod is the one you’ll want to download if you’re keen to play with your friends in a truly competitive setting. It may not be Smash Bros. Ultimate, but it’ll do.
1. Ultimate AIO Pack Patch
Check Out This Mod This amazing mod turns the game into what it should’ve been from the start. Basically it changes many of the annoying aspects of the game (including character unlocks) and turns the game into the absolute best Naruto fighter out there. Quite a statement, but give it a try and see! Not only that, but it also tweaks DLC characters to make them permanently unlocked from the start. And it removes some maps from the map randomization so fights will feel more natural, and even unlocks some characters that are not playable to give you the full NSUNS4 experience! This is a must-try in my book.
